At ECOTO, we believe that protecting the planet goes hand in hand with supporting local communities. Our mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of Sri Lanka through the Flow Earth project.
We regenerate degraded land by planting CO₂-absorbing grasses and transforming them into permanent carbon storage and carbon-negative fuels. This process not only helps tackle climate change but also creates long-term opportunities for local communities.
As a Swiss-based organisation, ECOTO ensures the maintenance, monitoring, and quality control of the project, while working closely with a trusted local partner in Sri Lanka who manages the on-the-ground operations. Together, we combine global expertise with local knowledge to create lasting impact.

ECOTO (Environmentally Conscious Transformative Organisation) is a Swiss company dedicated to building projects that combine ecological impact and social development.
Our flagship initiative, Flow Earth in Sri Lanka, focuses on regenerating marginal land with C4 grasses that capture carbon up to 10x more efficiently than trees. The project creates multiple benefits: restoring ecosystems, producing organic resources, and supporting local communities through education, training, and sustainable livelihoods.
ECOTO’s role is to oversee, maintain, and manage the entire project framework to ensure its success, scalability, and transparency. On site, we collaborate with a local partner who brings essential knowledge of the land, the communities, and the culture. This partnership model guarantees both efficiency and sustainability.
